Job Description:

Position Overview:

The Senior Scientist will oversee the daily operations of our laboratory, ensuring the efficient and effective execution of projects. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of lab experience, including experience in lab and process management. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biological Sciences and possess strong leadership and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Laboratory Management:

·      Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the lab, including workflow, equipment maintenance, and safety protocols.

·      Ensure that all laboratory activities comply with institutional, regulatory, and safety standards.

·      Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for laboratory operations.

Team Leadership:

·      Provide leadership and mentorship to lab staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

·      Supervise junior scientists and lab technicians.

·      Provide constructive feedback to team members.

Research and Development:

·      Assist with planning and executing day to day operations.

·      Ability to analyze and interpret data and present findings to leadership.

Process Management:

·      Oversee the development and optimization of laboratory processes and workflows.

·      Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.

·      Monitor and evaluate the performance of lab processes, identifying areas for improvement.

Resource Management:

·      Assist with laboratory budgets, including procurement of supplies and equipment.

·      Maintain an organized inventory of laboratory materials.

·      Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.

Qualifications:

·      Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biological Sciences or a related field.

·      Minimum of 5 years of laboratory experience, with at least 2 years in a lab and process management role.

·      Proficiency in modern laboratory techniques and equipment.

·      Strong leadership and team management abilities.

·      Excellent organizational and time management skills, with meticulous attention to detail.

·      Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.

·      Proven ability to identify and resolve technical and operational issues efficiently.
