As a Waste Specialist at Altamira-US, you'll play a crucial role in managing waste responsibly, directly benefiting the environment. You will manage and coordinate waste activities in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, ensuring safe and efficient waste disposal.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement waste management plans and procedures.
  • Coordinate with vendors for safe and efficient waste transport and disposal.
  • Conduct waste characterizations, audits, and recommend waste reduction strategies.
  • Manage waste storage and disposal areas, maintaining accurate records.
  • Provide training and guidance on proper waste management practices.
  • Support the client’s Plant and HSE Manager with project activities.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and the Altamira Project Manager.
  • Ensure technical quality of projects and resolve compliance questions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of waste management regulations.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with waste management software and databases is a plus.
  • OSHA HAZWOPER and RCRA certifications preferred.
