About Us:

We are a dynamic, growth-oriented company specializing in distributing ammunition products. Our commitment to efficiency and customer satisfaction drives our operations, and we're looking for a Shipping Associate to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring that our products are accurately picked, packed, shipped, and managed, especially focusing on LTL (Less Than Truckload) shipments to our customers on time.

Position: Shipping Associate

Location: Sparta Illinois 

Type: 

(1) Full-Time 

Shift: 6 am- 2 pm & 8 am-5 pm 

Compensation: $17-$21 hourly

Responsibilities:

  • Picking Orders: Accurately pick products from designated locations using picking lists or handheld scanners, ensuring the correct quantity and product type are selected.
  • Packing Orders: Securely pack orders in appropriate packaging to prevent damage during transit. This includes selecting the right size box, using protective materials, and ensuring the package is sealed properly.
  • Shipping: Process orders for shipment using computer software or shipping systems. This includes printing shipping labels, weighing packages, and determining appropriate postage. Special attention must be given to LTL shipments, coordinating with carriers to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery.
  • LTL Shipment Management: Arrange and manage LTL shipments, including scheduling pickups, consolidating shipments to maximize space utilization and reduce costs, and completing necessary paperwork and documentation.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in inventory counts and maintain accurate records of inventory levels. Report any discrepancies or issues to the supervisor immediately.
  • Quality Control: Inspect products for defects or damages before packing, ensuring only the highest quality products are sent to customers.
  • Maintain a Clean and Safe Workspace: Keep the picking, packing, and shipping areas clean and organized to promote a safe working environment.
  • Adhere to Safety Guidelines: Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse, retail, or distribution center environment is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with LTL shipping processes and procedures is highly desirable.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with shipping software are a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work in different shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
