Position: Car Mechanic

Location: Merc’s Automotive –  Future location in Oceanside, NY

Job Type: Part-time/Full time 30-50 Hrs/Week

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine automotive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests to identify vehicle issues and provide accurate repair recommendations.
  • Repair and replace worn or malfunctioning parts and components (Brakes, belts, exhausts, tires, suspension components, engine and transmission components).
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure efficiency and safety.
  • Test drive vehicles to ensure repairs have been completed correctly and identify any additional issues.
  • Communicate effectively with owner regarding vehicle issues and recommended repairs.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements:

·       Proven experience as an automotive technician or mechanic, with a strong understanding of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods.

·       Ability to handle various tools and heavy equipment (e.g., lifts, diagnostic tools) safely and effectively.

·       Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

·       Strong communication and customer service skills.

·       Motivated self-starter with a passion for the automotive industry and a desire to grow within a dynamic workshop environment.

·       Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
