Candidates must possess the following experience/skill sets:

  2. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology
  3. Three or more years of consecutive teaching experience (any formal instructor/teaching education)
  4. Applicable training and/or current certifications for the specified discipline, e.g. CCNP, MCSA, or current equivalents
  5. ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED

Duties include:

  1. Independently researches, develops, maintains and updates materials for complete courses in advanced technical systems.
  2. Responsible for choice of topics, subject-matter content, course organization, and emphasis.
  3. Conducts extensive fact finding and research to select, interpret and adapt complex, detailed training material from various sources such as industry, research laboratories, educational institutions, professional associations, libraries and other agencies to develop complete courses.
  4. Develops all course material to include new or modified study guides, visual aids, simulations (mock ups and models), written tests, proficiency charts, training aids and course outlines.
  5. Updates total course materials as changes occur in subject matter special or assigned project.
  6. Recommends or establishes appropriate scheduling of assigned course or performs coordinative duties as required.
  7. Independently develops and updates lesson plans for courses in advanced technical systems.
  8. Develops and modifies, as needed, short and long range lesson plans that are complementary to total course content
  9. Updates lesson plans as changes occur in subject matter area or when there are technological changes that alter methods of delivery.
  10. Follows lesson plans, deviating to relate to students with complicated, specialized learning difficulties, accommodate sudden changes in subject-matter area, or for other unavoidable circumstances.
  11. Conducts classroom, laboratory and field instruction for any of the following courses, but are not limited to: network security training to include principles of packet filtering and application gateway firewall principles, application of Intrusion Protection Systems, and security processes and procedures; systems administration training on system server Operations and administration to include configuration, administration and maintenance of Windows servers, Active Directory, Exchange, Microsoft Terminal server and other Microsoft services to include DNS, DHCP, File, and Print; VMWare technology to include ability to upgrade and configure hosts, virtual machines, virtual switches, and perform virtual machine migrations.
  12. Independently plans, coordinates and presents material in accordance with lesson plans and within the prescribed course framework.
  13. Maintains classroom decorum by acting upon distractions or disturbances. Reports student absence and tardiness.
  14. Forecasts and coordinates operational, logistical and administrative requirements to conduct classroom/field training exercises for students and instructors. Ensures teaching supplies, equipment, and classrooms/training areas are available and operational at the allotted time.
  15. Prepares and administers formal and informal tests or quizzes. Reviews them for accuracy and appropriateness of material coverage and student understanding of the material.
  16. As necessary, counsels students in the areas of performance, deportment, attitude or participation. Upon completion of counseling, completes appropriate form with recommendations and submits to the designated government representative.
