The Distribution Center Assistant Operations Manager is responsible for the success of assigned functions within the DC ensuring it is an outstanding place to work. The areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to the following: Inbound Operations, Outbound Operations, Transportation, and Inventory Management (e.​g.​ daily cycle counts and audits).​ The DC Operations Assistant Manager works with the on-site DC Operations Manager to develop strategies and objectives to maximize productivity and leverage expenses for the Power Distributors distribution center.​ The selected individual must analyze trends, solve problems, motivate, and develop change management strategies and tactics for the associates in order to maximize contribution to the DC success - typically manages through several supervisors to achieve results from warehouse associates.​

Specific Responsibilities

· Maintain standards in the areas of; Safety, Security, and hygiene at all times.

· Monitor team performance and take action to keep the team on track; help in overcoming barriers.

· Constantly work to improve the dock to stock inventory cycle.

· Adhere to all warehousing, handling, and shipping rules and regulations.

· Manage daily cycle count schedules to maintain inventory accuracy and control adjustments made.

· Monitor KPIs and make adjustments as necessary to meet or exceed metrics.

· Produce reports and statistics on an as needed basis.

· Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision.

· Manage warehouse design / product flow and make appropriate changes to maximize space utilization.

· Ensure that all orders submitted by 5:00 pm are shipped the same day.

· In conjunction with the HR Department, deliver the appropriate disciplinary action to warehouse associates when necessary and conduct associate's annual reviews.

· Provide orientation, training, and coaching for new employees.

· Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided.

· Communicate with clarity both verbally and in writing using proper business language and grammar.

· Take action to improve organizational culture, processes, or products/services; establish and encourage others to achieve a best practice.

· In the absence of the DC Operations Manager review, edit and finally approve payroll in company timekeeping system; Paycor.

· Be open to and embrace change; Help individuals overcome resistance to change.

Desired Skills & Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field is preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent is required plus 3-5 years of DC Operations management experience.

· Strong leadership, effective communication skills, and problem-solving ability

· Continuous Improvement experiences that benefit overall operations; Safety, Quality, Effectiveness, Employee Relations, etc.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to become proficient in company software; Net Suite (or other WMS software) experience preferred.

· Familiarity with RF/scanner technology to operate under Warehouse Management System.

· Working experience with warehouse transportation systems (TMS) such as Pro-Ship or any other Shipping software.

· Experience in establishing and monitoring safety protocols and procedures

· Ability to demonstrate the implementations and successful outcomes of Continuous Improvement initiatives that have driven positive financial impacts to the P & L.

· Acts with Integrity: Demonstrates responsible, ethical and honest behavior in all Power Distributors roles, tasks and responsibilities; models Power Distributors values.​

· Problem Solving: Reacts quickly and appropriately to problems in the DC; follows-up in a timely manner to issues not immediately resolvable; ties all loose ends.​
