An established manufacturer is seeking to hire an Associate Buyer at our Schaumburg, IL location. This role is ideal for an entry-level candidate seeking to jumpstart a career path in the procurement arena.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Review reports to plan the purchasing of raw materials and outside processes.
  • Coordinates the outside process schedule with production and outside contractors to ensure the timely and accurate receiving of material.
  • Analyzes material requirements and inventory to maintain on-time delivery and targeted inventory levels.
  • Review delivery requirements and expedites when necessary
  • Initiate and follow up regarding any vendor issues
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Knowledge of MRP systems is highly desirable
  • Monitors the MRP (Material Requirement Planning) report and responds to changes as they occur in open purchase orders.
  • Ability to read blueprints preferred
  • Follows work procedures and ensures the highest level of quality.
  • Represents the company in negotiations and business activities with suppliers, as assigned.
