Job DescriptionJob Description

The Quality Control Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the Quality Control Manager in overseeing daily QC operations to ensure that products meet the organization's quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves supervising quality control staff, coordinating with other departments, conducting inspections, analyzing data, and recommending process improvements. The QC Assistant Manager will also help develop and implement quality control procedures, resolve any quality-related issues, and ensure continuous improvement in all areas of production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Quality Control Team:
  • Oversee the activities of QC staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to QC inspectors and technicians.
  • Assign tasks and manage workloads effectively.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure that all products meet the required quality specifications before they are released to customers.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to identify non-compliance or defects.
  • Monitor production processes and work closely with production teams to address any quality issues.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting:
  • Collect, analyze, and report quality data to upper management.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as defect rates, customer complaints, and corrective actions.
  • Prepare regular reports detailing quality trends and areas for improvement.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify areas where processes can be improved to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions and preventive measures to mitigate risks.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across departments.
  • Compliance:
  • Ensure that quality control procedures comply with industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, GMP).
  • Assist in audits and certifications as required.
  • Maintain and update quality documentation such as SOPs, manuals, and work instructions.
  • Customer Feedback & Issue Resolution:
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to product quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance, Production, R&D, and other teams to ensure seamless communication and problem-solving.
  • Attend meetings to discuss quality performance and suggest improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Industrial Management).
  • Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience in quality control/quality assurance, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of quality control principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience with quality management systems (QMS), such as ISO 9001, GMP, Six Sigma, or similar.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in using quality-related software and tools (e.g., statistical analysis software).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Certifications (preferred):
  • Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or equivalent certifications.
