Under general supervision, performs the assembly/sub-assembly to engineering drawing of a limited range of production units of some complexity. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Must be able to work from blueprints, as well as, from verbal and/or written specifications.
  • Adjusts and aligns units to liberal tolerances and ordinary inspection standards.
  • Tests completed parts to engineering test requirements and records data, which may be witnessed by Government or customer representative.
  • Performs safety wiring.
  • Solders electrical connections under supervision.
  • Makes routine inspections of completed units.
  • Uses high pressure gauges and electrical measuring devices.
  • Sets up simple test equipment, hydraulic or pneumatic and standard measuring equipment, such as test gauges, voltmeters and amp meters.
  • Moves parts and material to and from work area.
  • Packages and marks completed valve boxes for shipment to stock.
  • May assist Assembler A.
  • Maintains good housekeeping in work area.
  • Must adhere to all safety regulations and best practices.
  • Arrives to work on time and performs other work-related functions on time and as scheduled.
  • Interact with organizational team members and other departments in a professional manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and directed by management. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High Diploma or GED, required. 
  • Two years’ assembly and testing experience within the company or equivalent experience with demonstrated acceptable performance of the required job duties. 
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.  

REQUISITE SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Sets up test equipment, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical, using standard measuring equipment, test gauges, voltmeters and amp meters.
  • Physically moves parts and materials to and from the work area.
  • Sets up and tests to engineering test reports and records data which may be witnessed by Government or customer representative.

EQUIPIMENT/MACHINERY USED

Simple test equipment, hydraulic or pneumatic and standard measuring equipment, uses high pressure gauges and electrical measuring devices, such as, test gauges, voltmeters and amp meters. Uses standard hand tools such as screwdrivers and adjustable wrenches.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Lifting up to 25lbs regularly and 50lbs occasionally, pushing, pulling, standing for long periods of time, manual dexterity, visual acuity, and typing.
