Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPOSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY STATEMENT: 
The ILL & Circulation Coordinator will focus on processing interlibrary loan and circulation requests.
As part of the Library Services team, staff the front desk and answer phone calls during hours of operation, answer basic military history and genealogy reference inquiries at the front desk, assist PMML members in the reading room, shelve and/or shift books in the stacks.

ESSENTIAL POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to process interlibrary loan and circulation requests
  • Report statistics for interlibrary loan, circulation, and visitor transactions regularly to the Library Services Manager
  • Ability/willingness to work Saturdays and occasional evenings
  • Ability/willingness to locate items from a list in the stacks
  • Ability to lift bankers boxes up to 40lbs
  • Attention to detail and meticulousness
  • Knowledge of research practices
  • Basic knowledge and/or interest in military history
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and willingness to learn other software
  • Ability to work independently
  • Bachelor’s Degree in History, Political Science, or related field required
  • Previous library experience required
  • Speaking and/or reading ability in a foreign language desired
ASSIGNED RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Process interlibrary loan and circulation requests
  • Report statistics for interlibrary loan, circulation, and other visitor transactions
  • Reshelve library materials and shelf read the stacks with the Digby app on phone or iPad
  • Assist in the provision of reference services while working the front desk
  • Provide other basic library and front of house services to guests
  • Assist in providing logistical support for institution’s events as needed
  • Assist in supervising volunteers in the Library as needed/requested
  • Other duties as assigned
