Job Title: City Clerk/ABC Administrator, City of Middletown, Kentucky
Job Description: Under the supervision of the Mayor, this position performs responsible administrative duties for the city and City Commission. The City Clerk is the official custodian of municipal documents and is responsible for official City records. The employee has a substantial amount of public contact regarding the furnishing of information concerning City Ordinances and policies. The City Clerk handles confidential documents and is expected to work independently with minimal supervision.
Duties include but not limited to:
• Maintenance and safekeeping of the permanent records of the city
• Keep true and complete records of all proceedings of the legislative body and those records as he/she may be directed by the legislative body to keep.
• Maintain an index of general ordinances of the city
• Update and maintain the City’s website.
• Publish quarterly newsletters
• Prepare agenda for all city meetings and upload data onto One Drive to send to the City Commission
• Administrator ABC laws for the City including overseeing the license application and renewal applications
• Write and administer grants.
• Maintain mayor’s calendar.
• Stay updated on Metro Planning and zoning for cases that affect Middletown.
• Send out meetings requests to city personnel related to city meetings.
• Process payments for Property Taxes, Business License, and OCC Taxes.
• Some evening/night work is required
• Other duties as needed

Job Qualifications & Requirements
• Associate/Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years with local government in relevant role
• Use of Microsoft Office, Zoom and other technology as needed
• Energetic, Friendly, and upbeat personality
• Ability to work under pressure while prioritizing
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Problem-solving skills
• Must be bondable.

COMPENSATION: 30 hours per week with a range of $26 -$28/hr. The starting salary will be determined by the candidate’s years of relevant work experience.
