We are seeking an Operations Manager to join our team.. The individual will manage two or more supervisors/leads who oversee the Production departments. They will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these functional units. They will directly influence a positive work environment that drives a proactive culture of safety and employee engagement, while providing leadership to the overall operations of the facility.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Synthesize complex or diverse information. Collects and researches data, while using intuition and experience to complement data. Design workflows and procedures.
  • Generate creative solutions, translating concepts and information into images. Use feedback to modify designs & apply design principles, while demonstrating strong attention to detail.
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Gather and analyze information skillfully. Able to assess own strengths and weaknesses while striving to continuously build team knowledge and skills.
  • Communicates change effectively; develops workable implementation plans. Builds commitment and overcomes resistance. Monitors transition and evaluates results.
  • Effectively develop and implement cost saving measures. Contribute to profits and revenue and conserve organizational resources.
  • Have experience of utilizing Lean Six Sigma tools & techniques
  • Have a minimum 5 years’ experience leading a production team
  • Understand Continuous Improvement principles and can Manage CI projects

Responsibilities:

  • Confers with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications and delivery dates of products ordered.
  • Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
  • Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment.
  • Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems.
  • Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
  • Revises production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems.
  • Consults with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum six (6) related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Position may require a Lift Truck Operator’s Certification.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Must have a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Work, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
