SEED, a growing non-profit, is seeking part-time instructors to deliver hands-on, exciting science lessons to elementary (and occasionally middle) school students across Metrowest, Southeast MA, and Greater Boston. Responsibilities:
Lead engaging, curriculum-aligned STEM lessons for elementary and occasionally middle school students.
Foster a positive, interactive learning environment.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of basic science concepts (training provided for further development).
Collaborate with classroom teachers on pedagogy and science content (optional).
Must have reliable transportation to reach partner schools.
Qualifications:
Prior teaching experience (formal or informal) a plus, but not required.
Enthusiasm for working with elementary-aged children.
Passion for science and a desire to make learning fun
Bachelor's degree in education or a scientific field preferred.
Fluency in English and excellent communication skills.
Reliability and ability to work independently after training.
Familiarity with K-12 MA science standards and inquiry-based learning (advantageous).
Benefits:
Flexible part-time schedule (1-3 days/week, school year schedule).
Collaborative and supportive work environment.
Focus on teaching and interactive science activities (minimal behavior management).
Minimal lesson prep required.
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate for contractors: $30-$50/hour.
Location: Metrowest, Southeast MA, and Greater Boston (various locations).
