Ignite Young Minds Part-Time STEM Educator (Metrowest, Southeast MA, Boston)

Do you have a passion for science and a knack for engaging young learners? SEED, a growing non-profit, is seeking part-time instructors to deliver hands-on, exciting science lessons to elementary (and occasionally middle) school students across Metrowest, Southeast MA, and Greater Boston. This is a perfect opportunity for retired teachers, educators seeking part-time work, or anyone with a science background and a love of sharing knowledge

 

Responsibilities:

Lead engaging, curriculum-aligned STEM lessons for elementary and occasionally middle school students.

Foster a positive, interactive learning environment.

Demonstrate a strong understanding of basic science concepts (training provided for further development).

Collaborate with classroom teachers on pedagogy and science content (optional).

Must have reliable transportation to reach partner schools.

 

Qualifications:

Prior teaching experience (formal or informal) a plus, but not required.

Enthusiasm for working with elementary-aged children.

Passion for science and a desire to make learning fun

Bachelor's degree in education or a scientific field preferred.

Fluency in English and excellent communication skills.

Reliability and ability to work independently after training.

Familiarity with K-12 MA science standards and inquiry-based learning (advantageous).

Focus on teaching and interactive science activities (minimal behavior management).

Minimal lesson prep required.

 

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate for contractors: $30-$50/hour.
