Job Overview

Uncommon Schools Roxbury Prep is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated High School Science Teacher to join our team. As a Science Teacher, you will play a critical role in preparing our students for success in college and beyond.

Responsibilities
  • Instruction
    • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of all students, including those with diverse learning styles and abilities.
    • Use a variety of instructional strategies to promote student engagement and understanding, including inquiry-based learning and project-based assessments.
    • Provide individualized support to students who require additional help, and collaborate with colleagues to develop strategies for supporting students with varying levels of proficiency.
    • Use data and assessments to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions to improve student outcomes.
  • Data Analysis
    • Analyze student data to identify trends and areas of improvement, and use this information to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement strategies for improving student outcomes, including developing and implementing new curriculum and assessments.
  • School Culture
    • Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive school culture.
    • Participate in school-wide initiatives and events to promote a sense of community and school spirit.
    • Engage in ongoing professional development to improve teaching practices and stay current with best practices in education.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience working with students in urban schools and communities.
  • Strong knowledge of Science curriculum and instructional strategies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and build positive relationships with students and families.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in education.
