Job Description

Primarily responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate postings of cash receipts to customer accounts or other accounts for non-receivable related cash receipts. Exceptional customer service to external and internal customers is critical to the success of the Cash Applications Supervisor and the Cash Applications team. Positive interactions with all other departments as needed (finance, IT, sales).

Essential job functions

  • Ensure the timely and accurate postings of cash receipts daily.
  • Provide positive customer service to both internal and external customers.  Timely and complete resolution of all inquiries.
  • Ensure that all appropriate parties are engaged in the resolution of matters (i.e., Credit Specialists, Account Managers, CSR’s, Service Center Leaders, etc. must be consulted and informed as appropriate in matters affecting customers).
  • Reconcile accounts as needed, resolve issues, posting errors, disputes.
  • Manage cash applications and portal invoicing staff.
  • Support the Cash Applications associates, Credit Assistants and Credit Specialists in continuous process improvement efforts, including offering suggestions on more efficient methods of workflow and implementing procedural changes as identified. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned and as necessary.
Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proficient in using 10-key.  Excellent data entry skills, including entry of high-volume of alpha-numeric data.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
  • Attention to detail and a desire to ensure the highest degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent analytical and reasoning capabilities.
  • Ability to handle difficult and adverse situations in a cool and calm manner always seeking to ensure the correct answer and resolution is achieved.
  • Strong customer service orientation – both external and internal.
  • Keen eye for details, proven math skills. Must have excellent number perception skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written.
  • Unwavering commitment to Summit’s values and mission.
  • Time management – strong ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Flexibility – ability to effectively adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, hectic work environment.
  • Proven “do whatever it takes” attitude and approach to life and work.
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced, hectic environment.
  • H.S. education or GED equivalent is required.

Beneficial Skills and Experience:

  • Cash Applications experience in similar organization or industry. 
  • Previous successful experience in SAP or High Radius is preferred. 
  • Previous management/supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance.
  • Excel spreadsheet knowledge is helpful.
  • College coursework and/or Associates Degree in Accounting or Business.
