Emmanuel Family and Child Development Center offers supportive services to families with children living in poverty by providing access to high-quality learning environments, which stimulates the physical, social, emotional and cognitive development of children, improves psychological health and ensures school readiness.

We recently moved into a state-of-the-art facility that was custom built for our programs and mission. This move was years in the making and has ushered in a new era of growth as we are now able to serve more children and families than ever before. We have the space and a waiting list of children needing our services, we now need additional teachers to help us meet those needs. Emmanuel Family and Child Development Center could be the place for YOU

We have partnered with the Kansas City Pre-K Cooperative using an innovative pre-K model that provides a structure for participating LEAs such as Emmanuel Family & Child Development Center to offer pre-K services and to operate pre-K classrooms and programs in established, high-quality early education programs to serve students. In addition to increasing access, this partnerships will increase kindergarten readiness, improve vertical alignment between pre-K and kindergarten, provide families with collaborative support services, and ultimately increase student achievement.

QUALIFICATION AND TRAITS

Required Qualifications:

 Must have a bachelor’s degree and appropriate Missouri Teacher Certification in Early Childhood Education or Early Childhood Special Education.

 A commitment to working in urban education and closing the achievement gap.

 Must pass an extensive background check.

The ideal teacher will have:

 Experience teaching early childhood/elementary grades.

 Excellent organization skills and an ability to coordinate multiple tasks and activities.

 Excellent communication/interpersonal skills as well as a desire to collaborate with various stakeholders to help develop a strong school community.

 Excellent work ethic, positive attitude, flexibility and willingness to perform tasks assigned.

 Ethical behavior and hold confidentiality of information about students and teachers in the school environment and community.

 Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, and Outlook.

Physical Requirements:

 Be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

 Excessive climbing, walking, bending, stretching and sitting on floor with children.

 Exposure to childhood illnesses and diseases.

 Exposure to varying outside temperatures (heat and cold).

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Salary is based on years of experience and degree of education. A competitive benefits package is also offered.
