PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST/PURCHASER
Department: Service
Reports to: Service Manager

Job Purpose / Objective
The Procurement Specialist/Purchaser is responsible for:
- Forecasting demand
- Procuring raw materials, components, tooling, and equipment at the lowest possible costs
- Tracking purchase orders to ensure timely shipment and accurate receiving
- Maintaining strong relationships with international vendors
- Assisting in the development of departmental strategies

Key Accountabilities
- Purchase raw materials, tooling, components for custom and standard inventory, office supplies, and equipment needed for day-to-day operations.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors, including communication, negotiation, and issue resolution.
- Generate purchase orders accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse to ensure adequate stock levels and timely replenishment.
- Assist in negotiating pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable terms.
- Maintain accurate records of purchasing transactions, contracts, and correspondence with suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with purchasing policies, regulations, and industry standards. Identify and mitigate procurement risks.
- Assist in sourcing new suppliers, conducting supplier evaluations, and qualifying new vendors.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Quality Health Safety & Environment (QHSE)
- Adhere to all relevant QHSSE procedures, instructions, and controls to provide a safe, secure, and environmentally responsible service to customers, the public, and employees.

Qualifications, Experience & Competencies
- Education / Qualifications: High School Diploma required
- Relevant Experience: Prior purchasing experience in a raw material or component environment is an asset
- Skills & Competencies:
- High level of attention to detail & excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer skills
