Job DescriptionJob Description

Custom Service Solutions, Inc. (CSS) has two distinct divisions with two product lines.

· We are a Firetrace distributor which involves selling, installing, and servicing fire suppression systems for CNC machines. Firetrace systems are typically drop shipped to customers. Our technicians are scheduled to travel to manufacturing facilities to install and test them throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico. These systems protect machines that cut with oil lubrication from being damaged due to fires that often occur.

· We designed and developed a product called MiJET for manufacturing facilities that utilize compressed air to clean parts. This product has been on the market for about 8 years and is well received by companies who value clean work environments and safe workspaces. We manufacture this product line in Brockport, NY, and ship to customers worldwide through a network of distributors.

We take pride in the high-quality products that we manufacture and sell, along with the high level of customer service we provide. Our goal is always to respond quickly to customers’ requests and help them keep their manufacturing facilities running production with the least amount of downtime as possible.

 

Job Description: Installation, Service, and Production

Travel (approximately 30%)

Installation of Firetrace systems and any other product lines that CSS is involved in requires:

o Preparation of installation materials at shop.

o Travel to customer site via auto, company aircraft, or airlines. Travel will include:

§ Overnight stays for large jobs or multiple jobs in same general out of town area.

§ Setting up rental cars, hotels, travel arrangements, etc.

o Professional installation of CSS equipment, including mechanical and electrical aspects of install.

§ Mounting hardware on machines

§ Running tubing lines and wire

§ Interfacing with machine’s electrical circuits.

o Completion of thorough testing of installed equipment and ensuring that the customer’s machine is left in original working order and installation site is clean.

o Troubleshoot and solve problems as they arise.

o Completion of proper paperwork for installed equipment.

o Completion of proper expense reports for supplemental components purchased and travel expenses.

 

Service of Firetrace, MiJET Automation, and any other product lines that CSS is involved in requires:

o Understanding customer phone service request, and initially attempting to fix customer problem via phone conversation.

o Preparation of service materials at shop.

o Travel to customer site via auto or company aircraft or airline. Travel may include:

§ Overnight stays for large jobs or multiple jobs in same general out of town area.

§ Setting up rental cars, hotels, travel arrangements, etc.

o Fix equipment on site or replace with serviceable unit.

o Completing proper paperwork for serviced equipment.

o Completing proper expense reports for supplemental components purchased and travel expenses.

o Upon return to home base, repair faulty equipment or prepare for return to manufacturer.

 

Inspection of Firetrace systems at customer sites, which includes:

o Travel to customer site via auto, company aircraft or airline. Travel will include:

§ Overnight stays for large jobs or multiple jobs in general out of town area

§ Setting up rental cars, hotels, travel arrangements, etc.

o If faults are found, fix equipment on-site or replace with serviceable unit.

o Completion of proper paperwork for inspected unit.

o Completion of proper expense reports for additional equipment purchased and travel expenses.

 

Production Duties when not travelling (approximately 70%)

· Work with production supervisor for direction on shop tasks needed.

· Operate shop equipment including lathes, mills, grinders, brake, shear, router table, forklift, etc.

Other (as needed)

· Participate in the annual year-end inventory counting, takes place at the beginning of January.

· Work with management on other tasks as needed.

Necessary skills:

· Ability and willingness to travel to customer sites throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico.

· Proven understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems.

· Ability to learn system processes to complete consistent, clean installations with minimal or no supervision.

· Ability to organize supplies and tools needed to complete high quality installations.

· Operate machinery such as lathes, mills, forklift, hand tools, etc.

· High level of attention to detail and follow through.

· Ability to consistently manage and complete multiple tasks from the categories above.

· Need excellent communication skills with customers and CSS staff.

· Self-motivated and willing to learn new skills.
