Description (objectives of the position):

Reveam is looking for a highly motivated Entry Level Electrical Controls Engineering with 2-5 years of professional experience for a full-time position. This is an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment on projects that impact Reveam’s ability to use advanced technology to provide safe and high-quality produce for consumers to enjoy.

We are looking for someone to work closely with our senior electrical engineers to grow their career experience through design and commissioning of complete electrical control and power systems. Skills will be refined with the following experiences:

  • Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming
  • Process and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) System Layout
  • Control panel planning, design reviews, installation, and commissioning
  • SCADA System / HMI Design and Programming
  • Power System Design Review
  • Panel/Conduit/Tray/Cable/Instrumentation Schedules
  • Low Level Radio Frequency Controller Design and Commissioning
  • Auto Frequency Control (AFC) Design and Commissioning
  • Virtual Machine Setup and Configuration
  • Network Conceptualization for Control Systems
  • Data Brokers for IIoT and/or EPICS configuration testing

Duties and Responsibilities – Internal Studies Lead

  • Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to assist in the design and development of electrical control systems for the new linear accelerator food irradiation treatment facility.
  • Participate in the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical control systems, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Support the development and implementation of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and other control system components.
  • Assist in the design and integration of electrical power distribution systems, switchboards, and instrumentation systems.
  • Assist in design and installation of electrical conduit and cable tray schedules
  • Conduct troubleshooting, diagnose electrical control system issues, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Using specialized equipment to test and calibrate high and low power radio frequency equipment.
  • Assist in design and commissioning of virtual machine systems and network architecture.
  • Build interfaces with equipment through PLCs and FGPA based controllers.
  • Assist in design of conceptual data brokers for IoT or EPICS
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, radiation safety specialists, and maintenance technicians, to ensure seamless integration of electrical control systems with other facility components.

Qualifications (specific requirements needed to be qualified for the position)

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
    • A minimum of 2-5 years of controls systems in manufacturing or similar environment
    • Strong knowledge of electrical control systems, instrumentation, and automation principles.
    • Proficiency with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and industrial control networks.
    • Familiarity in electrical circuit design and analysis tools
    • Basic understanding of electrical power distribution systems and motor control circuits.
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control system diagrams, and technical specifications.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
    • Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Time will be split between a standard office environment, traveling to the production facility out of state or vendors for discussions in design. Frequently sits, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, stand and walk; grasp with hands and fingers and lift up to 15 lbs. Occasionally using tools to strip cables, wires, and test electrical or electronic equipment. Occasionally moving large laboratory equipment to test or calibrate equipment. Occasionally bend, twist, push, pull, climb squat, crawl, and kneel. Frequently use computer, telephone, writing instruments. A large part of time is spent in a refrigerated area standing and walking. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Travel is expected to reach up to 75% during system or project related commissioning phases but is otherwise local. The noise level in the operation facility can be high. The noise level in the office environment is usually quiet to moderate.
