DIRECTOR – STRATEGY AND INNOVATION

JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Strategy and Innovation is responsible for the strategy, systems, processes and expansion of our GI practice and surgery center. This position will help set and execute a comprehensive operational and expansion strategy for DLDC including both core care delivery and ancillary revenue opportunities. This position provides leadership and direction for the patient care delivery systems within our practice and assumes direct line responsibility for patient care delivery as well as overall accountability for physical facility needs, physician recruitment and satisfaction, and operational outcomes. Specific responsibilities include supervising day-to-day operations, with an emphasis on patient care delivery, physician recruitment and satisfaction, high quality customer service, marketing (including digital marketing), implementing relevant IT / software tools, staffing, budgeting and efficient allocation and use of available capital and human resources. This position will also collaborate with ownership to develop and execute growth strategies for the practice including but not limited to: ROI driven marketing, creation of additional service offerings, physician recruitment, M&A, and driving operational efficiencies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

OPERATIONS

· Provides overall direction and supervision to all staff within the practice to ensure efficient day-to-day operations. Emphasis is on patient care delivery, effective practice management/staffing, physician recruitment, and community relations

· Delineates and delegates day to day responsibilities to the practice manager

· Maintains exceptional level of customer service; addresses and resolves complaints; serves as an example by providing excellent service to internal and external customers, physicians, employees, and patients

· Implements robust marketing program to improve patient acquisition and retention

· Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with provider staff to achieve and increase provider satisfaction and retention. Helps ensure that clinical operations are fully supporting providers and patient care

· Audits current information systems and makes recommendations to implement new tools that fully supporting high quality medical care. Develops effective training, review and optimization for patients, employees, and providers

· Evaluates patient, employee, and physician customer satisfaction indicators. Develops and implements action plans to assure quality outcomes through continuous improvement methods

· Develops and reinforces effective relationships with medical staff and employees to ensure their involvement with continuity of quality outcomes and the resolution of problems impacting facility operations and customer satisfaction

· Acts as a resource for the patient care delivery operations and state regulatory requirements of a defined medical facility

· Establishes a safe and professional work environment, adhering to all safety precautions and standards

· Develops, implements, and administers in-service training and education for staff as required (i.e. customer service, HIPPA compliance, etc.)

FINANCIAL

· Establishes operating budgets and controls expenses accordingly. Ensures sound fiscal operation of the facility, including review and implementation of comprehensive annual operating budget

· Meets budgeting goals and limitations through effective and efficient use of resources

· Analyzes staffing levels through quantitative and qualitative methods

· Reviews all capital equipment expenditures and makes appropriate recommendations

· Ensures a cost- effective store of supplies and proper functioning of equipment

· Conducts ROI analyses for new strategic projects, M&A, and / or capital purchases suggested

LEADERSHIP

· Serves an active member of the management team and contributes to its success by participating and collaborating with leadership

· Participates in long and short- term planning, by identifying expansion needs and facility improvements

· Understands billing capacity and needs across multiple offices

· Builds and leads departments as needed to support future growth

· Provides direction and develops practice growth strategy and development

· Works with various practice disciplines to ensure alignment to strategy

· Leads and coordinates clinical, strategy and staff development for existing business

· Participates in and leads internal brainstorming and practice planning sessions

· Maintains up-to-date knowledge of and adheres to key industry guidelines

· Mentors managerial staff, develops training and career development tracks

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor's degree required; Healthcare or Business major strongly preferred

· Advanced degree - MHA, MPH, MBA preferred

· 5+ years of experience in physician practice leadership role

· Strong billing and operations expertise including deep understanding of outpatient care delivery

· Previous experience in budget management and strategic planning required

· Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or G-suite
