Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and implement the organization's innovation strategy in alignment with corporate goals, emphasizing both digital and operational advancements.
- Engage with key internal stakeholders, including executive leadership and operational teams, to prioritize initiatives that yield the highest expected return on investment.
- Forge collaborations with external tech providers, startups, and academic institutions to enhance innovation efforts.
- Oversee a team of innovators and work collaboratively across departments to propel transformative initiatives.
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies, tools, and methodologies pertinent to upstream operations, facilitating proofs of concept (POCs) and scaling successful innovations.
- Identify applications for 5G, IoT, AI, data analytics, and other advanced technologies to enhance data-driven decision-making and capital efficiency.
- Manage the innovation budget effectively to optimize value creation.
- Establish performance metrics to assess the success and impact of innovation initiatives.
- Deploy digital solutions that streamline workflows, reduce operational costs, and enhance efficiency.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and agility within the organization.
- Encourage creativity and innovation by providing a supportive environment for idea testing and rapid learning, promoting long-term enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with intellectual property protections and industry regulations.
- Advocate for inclusivity, diversity, and empowerment within the innovation team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- At least 20 years of experience in Operations, IT, Finance, or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years in a leadership role focused on innovation and digital transformation, preferably in the oil and gas sector.
- Proven track record in executing digital transformation projects and deploying new technologies on a large scale.
- Strategic thinker capable of translating vision into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
- Experience in managing multidisciplinary relationships and driving cultural shifts towards innovation and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of intellectual property management, cybersecurity, technology commercialization, and regulatory compliance.
- Curiosity and openness to exploring new ideas and opportunities, particularly in emerging technologies.
- Ability to meet all essential physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of subsurface exploration, drilling, completions, and upstream production operations.
