This position is located in Central PA and is for an experienced Network Engineer who will ensure that the network is fully operational on a 24X7X365 basis in coordination with other staff.  Assist in designing and implementing using sound, repeatable, industry standard methodologies and in accordance with national standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

  • Configuration, installation, and maintenance of routers, VPNs, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, and load balancers.
  • Performing maintenance by scheduling network updates, performing upgrades, and installing patches or service packs.
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting network systems to look for new ways to improve performance.
  • Maintaining network security by performing data backups, updating virus protection software, and implementing new network data security systems.
  • Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems.
  • Managing all related staff and interfacing with executive management.
  • Working with external service and support vendors to ensure optimal network operation.
  • Installing and configuring network equipment.
  • Supervise staff in maintaining and monitoring the network.
  • Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management.
  • Implementing and testing disaster recovery procedures. 
  • Knowledge of how to integrate SD-WAN, WAN, LAN, and other networks and architectures is a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Maintain the network’s infrastructure and advising on maintaining software and hardware.
  • Providing annual budgets for the department.
  • Ability to effectively describe your solutions to non-IT employees and management.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Organized to be able to handle multiple tasks and issues simultaneously.
  • Possess analytical thinking to ensure the network and systems perform reliably and proactively identify new requirements as needs evolve.
  • Possess excellent problem-solving skills to be able to resolve issues as fast as possible to minimize network damage or downtime.
  • Manage time to be able to keep numerous projects on track and meet ongoing deadlines.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Prefer 2+ years of experience as Network Engineer
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Knowledge of virtualization, security protocols, SSD environments a plus

Hardware/Systems: 

  • Microsoft Hyper-V, VMWARE, DNS, SMTP, RAID, SAN, Switches and Firewalls
