OVERVIEW:

Our Computed Tomography imaging systems meet the highest standards for medical diagnosis and automated threat detection, saving lives and helping to keep the flying public safe.

Our team is now developing the next generation of security screening solutions for airports worldwide – solutions that will incorporate the latest advances in machine and deep learning, 3D imaging and open network architectures. We are seeking a data scientist / algorithm engineer to join our team and contribute at concept, development, and product levels within our aviation security business units. The ideal candidate will have strengths in the physical sciences, machine vision, data science and software engineering. Experience managing and analyzing data using Matlab, Python and/or C++, Excel and related tools in a Windows and Linux environment is need for the role, as well as experience developing algorithms using traditional, machine learning, and deep learning techniques. Experience with CUDA and/or TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, or other deep learning tools is a plus.

DUTIES:

· Designs algorithms for threat detection using engineered algorithms, machine learning and neural network approaches

· Develops methodologies and tools required for data analysis and algorithm development and testing

· Invents original and creative approaches to design tasks

· Work under the direction of a lead scientist/engineer and with other team members to define project scope, goals, and technical approaches

· Contributes to projects of medium scope with high commercial value.

· Performs consistently in meeting project performance criteria, schedules, deadlines, displays a continually increasing breadth of knowledge.

· Communicates complex concepts in written and verbal form. Creates technical reports, publications, specifications, product designs test plans, and release notes.

· Communicates effectively with team members and other internal/external stakeholders.

· Performs other duties as required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· Master’s degree in a scientific discipline with 3 years or more years of related experience, or a doctoral degree.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interface with other engineers, team members, customers, and other stakeholders.

· Experience with aviation/military threats a plus.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

· US citizenship and the ability to obtain SECRET level clearance is required.

LOCATION:

· The position is based at Analogic’s headquarters in Peabody, MA.

· Eligible for flexible work schedule and vacation.

· Domestic and international travel up to 10%
