We are looking for an IT Security Engineer to join our team. This position will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of the organization’s information system and data. You will be a part of a growing team and will have the opportunity to experience multiple areas within the security and IT field.


Role and Responsibilities:


  • Operate, maintain, administer on-prem and cloud infrastructures to include modern hypervisors and virtual hosts (Azure/Entra ID, Nutanix, ESXi, etc.)
  • Operate, maintain, and administer modern end user operating systems (e.g., Windows, RHEL, Ubuntu).
  • Assist with network maintenance and infrastructure deployment including switching, routing and gateway management.
  • Actively monitor and analyze security events and incidents and respond promptly, and effectively to security threats and breaches on both collateral and enterprise environments. (Rapid7, Forescout)
  • Manage and maintain security-related tools, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint security solutions.
  • Conduct regular system audits and physical inspections of access control systems, security cameras, classified storage areas, and data sets.
  • Maintain documentation and records related to security audits, user access requests, inspections, and address findings with recommendations and appropriate corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to promote security awareness, education, and training.
  • Participate in risk assessments and gap analyses to identify areas for improvement in the organization's security posture.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding employees to include asset management and IT Service.
  • Assist the security team on mission essential tasks.


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent years of experience
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • US Government Secret Clearance or ability to obtain
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT security, with a focus on enterprise-wide security tools, risk management, auditing, and SOC operations.
  • 8570 IAT Level II Certification, Security+ CE or ability to achieve certification during employment.
  • Experience with security-related technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint security solutions.
  • Familiarity with security regulations and compliance frameworks, such as NIST 800-53 and NIST 800-171.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in addressing security-related incidents and vulnerabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
