Job DescriptionJob Description

The Kelly Group is seeking a Controller for its Decatur, Illinois, location. The controller will assist Kelly's chief financial officer with preparation of financial analyses of operations, including financial statements with supporting schedules, for the guidance of management.

Candidates with a bachelor's degree in accounting and 3 to 7 years of related experience are preferred, and construction accounting experience is a plus.

This position requires the ability to perform these essential duties:

  • Apply accounting policies in accordance with US GAAP and company policy
  • Assist to establish and maintain the company's accounting principles, practices and procedures with a high level of responsibility and confidentiality
  • Complete financial reporting functions, including journal entries, bank and general ledger reconciliations, over/under billing and work in progress analysis
  • Perform monthly and annual close functions through preparation of financial statements for each operating division
  • Prepare for fiscal year-end audit and work with external auditors
  • Supervise and support staff accounting positions
  • Special projects as assigned
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and operating systems
  • Learn and utilize construction industry-specific software (past experience using Timberline is beneficial)
