Job Description

The primary function of the Medical Logistics Manager is to oversee the utilization, quality, and inventory levels of TMS material while applying best standards and practices in Supply Chain and Logistics. They provide regular logistics direction and support to all our medical facilities and lead the materials and logistics movement coordination, new hire training, material status tracking, and overall supply chain support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide supply/operations analysis, supply chain management expertise, and logistics policy advice to management including staff recommendations.
  • Leads team of logistics support staff on project sites in compliance with relevant guidelines and International SOS policies and procedures
  • Provides ongoing direction, training, and process change implementation.
  • Responsible for maintaining stock levels and ordering general supply consumables through the appropriate ordering system.
  • Maintain accountability of materials in the warehouse as well as stock rooms at each medical location utilizing International SOS’ Inventory Management System.
  • Monitor, analyze, and maintain a tracking system for request orders (requisitions) from identification to receipt.
  • Supports pricing efforts for new and ongoing projects and performs price comparisons from separate vendors on different products
  • Train new staff developing them for future deployments to supply support activities.
  • Monitor and maintain full visibility of acquisitions in various stages of the cycle in support of multiple contracts in multiple countries interacting with various customers daily.
  • Maintain metrics and report to senior leadership on special projects and regular logistics activities.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks and expedite acquisitions providing technical support and procedure implementation.
  • Analyze situations accurately and recommend effective courses of action.
  • Coordinate daily with requestors, cataloging, purchasing, and supply chain management groups.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of supply chain functions.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Required Skills and Knowledge 

  • Ability to multi-task effectively, prioritize and execute against multiple priorities
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and functional disciplines
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong PC/Microsoft Office applications background
  • Strong knowledge of databases and spreadsheets
  • Extensive fundamental knowledge of logistics and supply principles and supply chain management
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong team-building and team-member skills
  • Excellent data entry skills
  • Additional knowledge/skills may be required by assignment or contract and will be listed separately

Experience:

  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in supply chain/logistics/warehousing
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in medical logistics or working in a medical environment
  • Experience on a military site, working as a government subcontractor or prime contractor is preferred.

Education:

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field such as business management or logistics management preferred.

Other Special Qualifications:

  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • A valid passport is required and must be in your possession
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn US Government and International SOS procurement systems.

The pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
