Who is Far Bank?

Far Bank is the world's authority in fly fishing, comprised of the greatest brands in the industry - Sage, Redington, RIO Products, and Fly Water Travel. Founded in 1980, Sage's core mission is "perfecting performance" through our Made in the USA fly rods and high-end fly reels. Redington, acquired by Sage in 2003, is the go-to provider of accessible fly-fishing rods, reels, waders, wading boots, and apparel for the value conscious angler. RIO Products joined the family in 2005 and is recognized as the world's leading producer of the highest performance fly lines, leader, tippet, and flies for the specialty fly fishing market. In 2018, Fly Water Travel (FWT) joined the Far Bank family, complementing our industry-leading products with world-class on-the-water experiences. Our Search/Position Summary

Far Bank is currently seeking our next great RIO Products Marketing Manager (RIO MM), a full-time position based in either Idaho Falls, ID or Bainbridge Island, WA and reporting to our Director of Marketing and Creative.

As the RIO MM and part of our internal Marketing Team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of RIO's marketing efforts, creating and implementing brand strategies to drive emotive connections with current and prospective customers. Responsibilities of this role are inclusive of all product launches, promotions, consumer engagement, dealer support, social media (organic and influencer marketing), email marketing, public relations, and website/digital efforts. In this role, you will collaborate intimately with our Product Development and Sales teams, as well as your Marketing Manager peers (Sage/Redington/Fly Water Travel), ultimately positioning and projecting RIO Products as the most authentic, highest quality, and best customer service brand in fly fishing.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of marketing strategy and consumer engagement tactics, including experience creating and maintaining a marketing calendar as well as content creation (photo and video) through both 1st party and 3rd party resources. To be successful in this role, a candidate needs to have a genuine connection and passion for fly fishing and a finger on the pulse of the fly fishing community.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Lead all RIO Products marketing projects including but not limited to marketing calendar, promotions, internal/external communication, and budgetary spending to increase brand awareness with the end goal of increasing brand affinity and sell-in/sell-through opportunities
  • Be a guardian of the RIO Products brand on a global scale and ensure consistent brand messaging and visual presentation. Act as RIO Products leader and ambassador in the field to form strong relationships with consumers, dealers, and brand advocates
  • Build RIO Products culture and cult status through the creation/communication of a brand point of view (differentiation) via print/interactive advertising, in-store display/merchandising, social media (organic and influencer), website/interactive, promotions, workbooks/catalogs, public relations, sales collateral, etc. that provides consistent brand presentation and capitalizes on market opportunities
  • Create clear and intuitive product positioning and messaging to drive dealer/consumer understanding and adoption of RIO Products' product portfolio
  • Direct and oversee efforts with ambassadors, grassroots sponsorships/promotions, film sponsorships/programs, event participation, and unique event creation to build brand exposure and brand affinity.
  • Cultivate partnerships with strategic dealers, brands, influencers, and customers for increased brand affiliations and awareness
  • Travel on a regular basis to consumer events, industry trade shows and functions, and dealer visits to gain insight into market conditions and determine how RIO Products can further engage with the consumer and help the dealer to promote sales. RIO Products' top 20 dealers (at a minimum) should know you on a first name basis

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Strong background and contacts in the fly fish and greater outdoor community
  • Knowledge of fly fishing products and insight into the fly fish industry
  • Experience with consumer engagement, content creation/distribution, advertising, promotions, and public relations
  • Team oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to work hard, travel extensively, and work weekends and/or long hours.
  • Highly motivated, flexible, self-directed, and outgoing personality.
  • Acute attention to detail with proven skills in planning, time management, prioritization, problem solving, and decision making.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to speak and present to a large group
  • Fully proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Understanding and ability to work in Adobe Creative Suite (PhotoShop, Illustrator, etc.) and Figma

Education and Experience • Bachelor's Degree preferred • 5+ years prior experience in marketing, promotions, and/or selling high-end active outdoor products

COMPENSATION

  • Salary Range is between $70,000 and $90,000 annual base, depending on experience.
