Corporate Partnerships Paid-Internship (Temporary, Part-Time)

Development

BACKGROUND

The Partnerships team works with major corporations and corporate foundations to raise critical funds for the museum’s key functions, including: exhibitions, collection conservation, educational programs (such as music, film, and technology), special projects, and annual events. The Partnerships intern will gain first-hand experience in each step of the Development process, from prospecting to cultivation and solicitation, all the way through to fulfillment corporate sponsorships. The intern will also have the unique opportunity to experience LACMA’s annual Art+Film Gala, among other events.

INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION

Intern will gain knowledge and experience in the following areas:

  • Produce pitch materials for exhibitions, programs, and events
  • Work on and develop corporate foundation grant proposals and wrap reports
  • Identify new corporate sponsors and members through research and effective solicitation strategies
  • Process gifts and draft acknowledgment letters
  • Create content for donor publications and general communications outreach
  • Attend special events, curator talks, and Development meetings to learn about upcoming programming as well as forwarding LACMA’s mission, collection, and organizational system
  • Support LACMA special after-hours events like the annual Art+Film Gala

This is a paid internship, 14 hours per week, $17.28 per hour.

Anticipated Internship period: September 16, 2024 – December 13, 2024.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • This internship is appropriate for current students and recent graduates (*LACMA’s definition of ‘recently graduated’: within 1 year after graduation) who are eligible to work in the US including visa holders with a work permit
  • The intern should have experience in communications, art history, business development, and/or marketing, and have an interest in learning about non-profit arts development, specifically in a museum setting
  • Be able to be in office 1-2x per week
  • If you need to meet certain criteria to obtain academic credit, please include them in the cover letter to verify if the LACMA internship can meet the requirements
