Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated High School Science Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore and understand scientific concepts, fostering a love for science and critical thinking skills. Additionally, the candidate should have a strong focus on improving student performance on the STAAR (State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness) tests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging science curriculum for high school students
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Assess and track student progress, providing feedback and support
- Incorporate technology and hands-on experiments to enhance learning
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional practices and curriculum development
- Support students' social and emotional development
- Prepare students for the STAAR tests and work to improve their test scores through targeted instruction and interventions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Education, or a related field
- Teaching certification preferred, but not required
- Strong classroom management skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
