We are looking for a skilled commercial Roofing Estimator whose primary function is to provide and lead full-service estimating for large-scale and complex projects.  Projects will be varied and span multiple types of roofing contracts. 

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Writing proposals based off estimates that clearly identify the scope of work we intend to perform.
  • Participating and facilitating hand-off meetings with roofing operations team.
  • Participating in weekly estimating meetings.
  • Sticking to assigned calendar bids and turning them in on time.
  • Attending pre-bid meetings when needed.
  • Estimating large scale new construction and renovation Commercial, Industrial, K-12, University, and Private roofing and wall panel projects. 
  • Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
  • Review and utilize historical data from previous P.O.s, subcontracts, productivity and other reports as needed to assess unit and labor calculations.
  • Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
  • Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
  • Attend all pertinent pre-bid meetings and review proposals and specifications to determine scope of work and estimate.
  • Track and manage awarded contracts including estimating change orders, additions, credits, materials, and more.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Manage and maintain working documents and cost database on regular basis to support estimate figures.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.



Requirements and skills:

  • Minimum 2yrs experience in commercial roofing estimating or minimum 5yrs in commercial roofing project management or minimum 1yr experience in commercial roofing estimating and a bachelor’s degree in construction management.
  • Proficient in reading construction plans and specifications.
  • Learning Edge Estimator takeoff and estimating software. This will be the only estimating program to be used. (Ample time and training will be given to understand and implement this software)
  • Knowledge of all major roofing and wall panel manufacturers. (Firestone/Elevate, Soprema, GAF, Sarnafil, Derbigum, Carlisle, Johns Manville, Unaclad, Berridge, Pac-Clad, McElroy, Metal-Era, Hickman)
  • Experience with bid sites. (iSqFt, Building Connected, Construct Connect, Construction Journal, Dodge, PlanHub)
  • Relationships with major General Contractors/Construction Managers.
  • Relationships with School Districts, Enclosure Consultants, Property Management Firms, Universities, Building Owners.
  • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Being in the office Mon-Fri. 8am-5pm
