What you’ll do:

The Alternative Investments Intern will be part of a team responsible for managing more than $1B in alternative assets. This role will support the alternatives investment team with the management of the rapidly growing non-core investments portfolio. This role will be responsible for assisting the team in researching and modeling non-core investment holdings and opportunities, preparing various reports, and assisting with process efficiency.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop knowledge and understanding of various non-core asset classes including, private equity, private credit, real estate, and other non-core asset classes.
  • Monitor macroeconomic and other market trends to assess the impact on the existing portfolio.
  • Assist with the due diligence of alternative investment opportunities.
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of periodic investment reports for various committees, boards, regulators, rating agencies and other internal constituents.
  • Evaluate and monitoring investment performance.
  • Attend manager meetings and participating in conference calls with alternative asset management firms.

Additional Details:

  • 10-week paid Fall internship (September – November)
  • 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday (flexible hours to accommodate class schedule)
  • All work will be remote with an occasional visit onsite to meet leaders and build relationships.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited institution towards a 4-year undergraduate degree
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Completed at least 2 years towards a bachelor's degree.
  • Preferred areas of study include in business, finance, economics, accounting, or another related subject.
  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Have curiosity about broad economic, business, and other investment related topics.
  • Have a strong business acumen, analysis skills, written and verbal communication.
  • Are highly organized with outstanding problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to collaborate as part of a close team and take direction from senior colleagues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience using Bloomberg a plus.
  • Possess integrity and are eager to be a part of a fast-paced culture that embraces diverse opportunities.
