SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Payroll Specialist selected for this role will be responsible for the administration and processing of payroll for multiple restaurants, on a bi-weekly schedule. They are responsible for ensuring accurate payroll information is processed on a bi-weekly basis, which may lead to providing support and guidance to the General Managers. In addition, they are responsible for auditing timecards, processing payroll reports, review eligibility for rehires, employment verifications, wage garnishments, unemployment/disability responses, updating/maintenance of team member files, handling of team members questions, and providing support to the Payroll/Benefits Supervisor.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Process restaurant bi-weekly payroll from start to finish, including auditing and inputting hours, computing wages, entering deductions,      and wage garnishments.

·         Monitoring and maintaining onboarding completion forms via the company’s HRIS systems.

·         Prepare, audit, and distribute payroll reports.

·         Keep detailed and organized payroll records.

·         Responsible for the integrity of team member files, including entering new hire information, payroll tax deductions, processing terminations, pay adjustments, direct deposits, address changes, and other pertinent information to maintain payroll records.

·         Maintaining paid time off balances and auditing for accuracy.

·         Responsible for tracking and proper filing of mandatory forms such as minor work permits.

·         Ensure that all benefits and insurance premiums are deducted from paychecks.

·         Process team member’s withholdings and garnishments when needed.

·         Assist with yearly benefit Open Enrollment including year-round benefit enrollment for new hires.

·         Respond to and resolve issues from team members and management within the scope of payroll.

·         Adhere to all state and federal regulations for payroll processing.

·         Quarterly file audits.

·         Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

·         Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.

·         Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.


 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

·         High School diploma or GED required.

·         Minimum of 1+ year experience in processing payroll, preferably using ADP workforce now.

·         Ideal candidate will have experience in the following platforms:

            - Harri platform,

            - PAR Data Central

            - Maitre’D System

            - Use and understanding of an HRIS platform

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

·         Full time position: Monday through Friday. Occasional weekend work, as needed.

·         Prolonged periods (up to 75%) of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

·         Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

·         Occasionally ascends/descends stairs, and ladders.
