We are currently seeking a full-time Kitchen Assistant Manager at our location in Worcester, MA. This individual will shape the dietary environment within agency guidelines by leading, coordinating, and guiding staff as well as ensure safety policies and procedures are current and compliant with Federal, State, local government and company expectations. Cook as well as manage delivery of a high volume of meals and snacks for early childcare and education programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participates in food preparation, cooking, baking, and applying a solid understanding of allergies regarding food and health protocols.
  • Assists in supervision of the kitchen program including menu planning, monitoring food safety and sanitation procedures, purchasing goods and supplies, and inventory.
  • Responsible for the program during the hours of operation when the Director of Food Services is absent and in cases of emergency.
  • Assists Director of Food Services with preparing and submitting necessary reports and documents to administrative staff including receipts, budget data, and collected human resources paperwork.
  • Maintains effective and positive communication with kitchen staff members and center Directors.
  • Requirements:
  • Must have the ability to walk, sit, bend, push, stretch and in an emergency take quick physical action including ability to lift 40 pounds.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Maintains ServSafe Certification Food Manager and other necessary training as required by the Board of Health and CACFP.
  • Knowledge of the CACFP nutrition requirements for meals to plan and serve balanced meals and snacks following CACFP guidelines.
  • Ensures proper food and sanitation practices are followed.
  • Must be able to enforce personal hygiene guidelines.
  • Background Record Checks, including CORI, SORI, DCF, and EEC Fingerprinting, with a suitable finding are required.
  • Maintains current first aid and CPR certifications.
  • Maintains state required trainings.
