Grants Management Intern

Hiring Summer 2024

In service of this vision, we advocate for early education and care policy reform and implement innovative, scalable solutions that address the biggest challenges facing early education and care providers and the families who rely on them.

About Neighborhood Villages: Neighborhood Villages advocates for policy reform and designs and implements pilot programs primed for adoption into public policy-and we have a proven track record of success. Through testing new solutions, Neighborhood Villages is driving the policy reform necessary to make change happen by building a stronger child care sector, through providing professional development programming and infrastructure supports to child care providers.

The Grants Management Intern, reporting to the Director of Grants Development, will support the grant-focused fundraising efforts for Neighborhood Villages. Responsibilities include researching national, statewide, and local grant opportunities, managing the grants calendar, creating a language bank, gathering content and data for reports, and any other tasks deemed relevant to securing grant funding for the organization. The intern will collaborate with the Director of Grants Management on proposal development, inclusive of narrative, data, and budgets.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research national, state, and local grant opportunities
  • Manage grants calendar
  • Create a prospects list for future grant opportunities
  • Create a language bank for all programs
  • Complete other activities as related to the grants work of Neighborhood Villages

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in progress
  • Demonstrated interest in early education
  • Demonstrated experience in the grant management cycle, from prospecting to submission
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills
  • Exceptional ability to independently manage time
  • Strong ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel

The start and end dates are flexible; however, this is a summer internship, and we are looking for a commitment of between 5 and 10 weeks.

Location

Neighborhood Villages is currently operating via a hybrid work model. The Intern will work remotely on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays and will be invited (not required, but preferred) to work in-person from Neighborhood Villages' Dorchester office on Mondays.

Other Requirements

The Intern will need to have access to a computer on which to complete work and an environment in which to complete work on remote work days.

Compensation:

We offer a stipend for summer internships of $3,000.
