ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Portfolio Manager in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) at Hut 8, you will play a critical role in supporting the company's financial planning processes, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic analysis. You will provide valuable insights and recommendations to assist senior management in decision-making and achieving financial goals. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Analysis and Reporting:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and presentations for senior management.
  • Conduct variance analysis and identify key drivers of financial performance. Provide insights and explanations for variances against budget, forecast, and prior periods.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Support the annual budgeting process by collaborating with department heads, consolidating financial data, and analyzing budget submissions.
  • Assist in preparing financial forecasts and updates based on business trends, operational performance, and economic factors.

Financial Modeling:

  • Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Perform scenario analysis and sensitivity modeling to evaluate potential outcomes and risks.

Business Partnering:

  • Partner with business units to understand their financial performance, key metrics, and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support decision-making and drive operational efficiency.

Ad-hoc Analysis and Projects:

  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis, ROI analysis, and special projects as assigned by management.
  • Assist in evaluating business cases for new investments, product launches, and strategic initiatives.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, improve data accuracy, and enhance reporting capabilities.
  • Implement best practices in FP&A to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.

Financial Systems and Tools:

  • Utilize financial planning software and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) to extract, analyze, and interpret financial data.
  • Continuously improve proficiency in financial systems and tools to support FP&A activities.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, accounting, or related roles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across functional teams.
  • Knowledge of financial planning software and ERP systems is preferred.
