Congregate Meals Cook

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Prepares daily meals in adherence to the approved menu.
- Ensures food is hygienically stored and food storage areas are kept clean.
- Maintains correct stock levels, ensures stock rotation, and ensures all stock is clearly labeled as required.
- Always maintains a high standard of hygiene and safety through daily cleaning of areas and equipment.
- Maintains the kitchen and kitchen equipment.
- Ensures all utensils are washed properly.
- Adheres to all Food and Nutrition Guidelines at local, state, and federal health guidelines during the preparation, cooking, and serving of all food.
- Ensure waste materials are properly placed in designated waste (trash) areas.
- Maintains a positive working relationship with fellow staff and participants.
- All other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience cooking.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to work well with individuals of all cultures and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Background check/drug screen.
SCHEDULE:
- Full-time (30hrs/wk.).
- Monday-Friday, 7am-1:30pm.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
