WE ARE CURRENTLY SEEKING SKILLED WORKERS FOR A TRAVELING BORING & EXCAVATING CREW.

Your Job Summary

The BORING & EXCAVATING CREW performs tasks involving physical labor at heavy construction projects. The position may operate a variety of hand and power tools. The crew performs pipe rehabilitation and sliplining and all other associated activities. This traveling crew typically works 4 twelve-hour days in various locations throughout the state of Virginia. Lodging and per diem are provided.

Your Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy construction projects; performs manual work

• Excavates and fills trenches and ditches.

• Maintains a clean job site: picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.

• Performs materials handling and storage.

• Loads and unloads trucks and hauls and hoists materials.

• Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.

• Pipe rehabilitation and sliplining activities.

• Providing assistance to Foremen and other Supervisors as needed, mixing, pouring and spreading materials, erecting and stripping form work.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Normal days and hours of work are Monday – Thursday, 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. with time provided for lunch, hours may vary. Work may be local or out of town in which case overnight stays are required and per diem is paid. This position frequently requires long hours. Some overtime is anticipated.

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.

Valid Driver’s License Required

2+ years of heavy construction experience preferred.
