Virginia Comprehensive Cancer Control Specialist

This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires a strong background in program management, analytical principles, and service integration. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing the Virginia Comprehensive Cancer Control Program, ensuring all required work plan activities and reporting elements are completed accurately and within established timeframes.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, implement, and evaluate strategies from the Virginia Cancer Plan through partnership, collaboration, and integration with the Cancer Action Coalition of Virginia (CACV) and its membership.
- Serve on the CACV Executive Board, CACV implementation work groups, and other community partner groups as needed.
- Provide subject matter expertise on the implementation of evidence-based interventions (EBIs) and policy, system, and environmental changes (PSEs), providing training and resources to partners on the use of EBIs and PSEs to accomplish strategies from the Virginia Cancer Plan.
- Manage the implementation of all VACCCP projects and ensure adherence to CDC funding requirements.
- Provide guidance and technical support to CACV general membership and workgroups on the implementation of Virginia Cancer Plan strategies, ensuring health equity is integrated into all activities.
- Monitor all contracts, MOAs, and agreements to ensure all deliverables are met and meet or exceed the project's expectations.
- Track the expenditure of all funds to ensure they are spent appropriately and in accordance with state procurement policies.
- Experience in the implementation and evaluation of evidence-based interventions.
- Experience in program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Experience in educating the public on chronic disease conditions (including cancer).
- Experience managing grants and budgets.
- Experience making presentations to diverse audiences.
- Experience in writing reports, program plans, and grants.
- Experience in developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with state coalitions, work groups, and committees.
- Experience in collaborating across organizations to leverage resources to implement shared activities.
- Experience incorporating health equity and social determinants of health into program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Demonstrated extensive knowledge in Community Health or Public Health.
- Experience in evidence-based cancer prevention, detection, and control interventions.
- Experience in implementing policy, system, and environmental control initiatives.
- Experience in collaborating with health systems to implement evidence-based interventions and quality improvement projects.
