Job DescriptionJob Description

LATG is looking to hire a Data Center Engineer that can successfully resolve technical issues (hardware and software) from incoming internal or external businesses and end user's contacts and proactive notification systems. (Proficiency with VMWare, Dell, HPE, Nutanix, preferred). Applicant is expected to proactively assist internal or external businesses and end users to avoid or reduce problem occurrence. Applicant should have the ability to act as a team or project leader, provide direction to team activities, and have excellent communication skills. Applicant will be expected to represent the company in a face-to-face customer location visit, industry conference/trade show, vendor meeting, etc.

Responsibilities:

Security Infrastructure Management

  • Design, implement, and maintain security infrastructure within the data center environment, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, access controls, and encryption mechanisms.
  • Conduct regular assessments and audits of security systems to identify vulnerabilities, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest security technologies and best practices to continually enhance the security posture of the data center.

Incident Response and Threat Management:

  • Develop and implement incident response procedures to address security breaches, unauthorized access attempts, and other security incidents promptly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate security breaches, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor security alerts and respond to potential threats in real-time, utilizing security information and event management (SIEM) tools and other monitoring systems.

Access Control and Authentication:

  • Implement and manage access control mechanisms to ensure that only authorized personnel can access the data center facilities and resources.
  • Oversee user authentication systems, including multi-factor authentication (MFA), biometric authentication, and role-based access controls (RBAC), to enforce least privilege access principles.

Security Policy Development and Compliance:

  • Develop and maintain data center security policies, procedures, and guidelines in alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001).
  • Conduct regular compliance assessments and audits to ensure adherence to security policies and regulatory mandates, and address any non-compliance issues promptly.

Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:

  • Collaborate with the disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BC) teams to develop, test, and maintain comprehensive DR and BC plans for the data center infrastructure.
  • Ensure the availability of redundant systems, backup solutions, and failover mechanisms to minimize downtime and data loss in the event of a disaster or service interruption.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience. BA/BS or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 3-5 years' experience in relevant technologies and customer environments.
  • Relevant industry qualification where applicable.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in language to be supported.
  • Experience in troubleshooting in a technical environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Software and hardware knowledge of computing, storage and peripheral devices.
  • Advanced proficiency with case management databases and tools.
  • Phone and remote support.
  • Ability to document solutions for usage of other technicians and customers.
  • Ability to lead resolution activities with escalated customers.
  • Ability to contribute to technical action plans.
  • Focus on one or more product lines (for example, proactive, reactive, storage, enterprise systems, etc.).
