Our two wildlife food processing facilities are located in the heart of sunflower seed and grain-growing regions and we are currently searching for a Lead Quality Assurance Technician for our wildlife facility located in Fargo, ND.

Summary:

The Lead Quality Assurance Technician will supervise employees in the Quality Assurance department and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include to assist in the hiring and training process for new and existing employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the Quality Assurance Technicians in daily operations and tasks related to quality assurance and control.
  • Implement and enforce GMP, HACCP, and HARPC standards across all stages of birdseed production.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Develop and maintain quality assurance procedures and documentation.
  • Train new employees on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Investigate and resolve quality-related issues and non-conformities promptly.
  • Collaborate with production teams to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) when necessary.
  • Monitor and analyze quality data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including management, production staff, and regulatory agencies.
  • Motivate and inspire a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the quality assurance team and across the production facility

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree (or higher) or minimum of one year of related lab/QA experience
  • Ability to understand Quality Standard Operating Procedures and Sanitation Operating Procedures
  • Understanding of FDA’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and knowledge of HACCP Allergen Risk Management
  • Must be time oriented, able to work in a fast-paced environment and work alone.
  • Computer knowledge and data entry skills including Excel, Word, and Microsoft related programs.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner by gathering and analyzing information and develops alternative solutions using this information.
  • Includes appropriate people in decision-making process, is willing to make final decisions and can support and explain reasoning for the decisions.
  • Develops and implements workable plans; effectively communicates changes to the plans.
  • Able to meet productivity standards, have accuracy and work independently.
