CNC Machinist (Setup and Operator)

Role Overview:

As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines to produce precision high-grade plastic parts. Your expertise will contribute to the manufacturing of high-quality components, ensuring all products meet industry standards and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Machine Setup: Set up CNC machines according to specifications, ensuring proper alignment and calibration.
  • 3 axis to 5 axis machine mill
  • Load and unload material and parts
  • Operation: Operate CNC machines to produce parts, monitoring the process to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Perform document counts
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Measure and document inspection data for self and peers
  • Complete discrepant tag information
  • Communicate with Engineering on issues, needs, and improvements
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure optimal operation and longevity.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues with CNC machines and machining processes.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of machine settings, operations, and maintenance activities.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Organize, clean, and maintain work area
  • Other functions as deemed appropriate


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in CNC machining is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist with setup and operation expertise is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machinery issues.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Commitment to safety and following established protocols.


Physical Requirements

  • Standing: This is an essential job function/physical requirement.
  • Walking: This is an essential job function/physical requirement.
  • Turning, twisting, bending, and stooping: These physical requirements are essential job functions.
  • Pushing and Pulling: These physical requirements are essential job functions.
  • Reaching: Forwardand overhead are essential job functions /physical requirements.
  • Lifting: Employees must lift 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 pounds.


Work Environment:

The work environment is collaborative and in a manufacturing environment. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.


Location:

This role is located either in Tempe, AZ.


Shift:

1st shift: 6am - 2:30pm

2nd shift: 2pm - 10:30pm Monday-Friday OR 2pm - 12:30pm Monday-Thursday

Note: Second shift adds a 10% shift differential to the hourly pay.


Schedule:

1st shift is Monday - Friday

2nd shift is Monday - Thursday OR Monday - Friday, flexible

No weekends

No on-call shifts
