POSITION SUMMARY:

The Global Controller will be responsible for providing leadership to the G/L accounting, A/P, and A/R. It will be critical that the Global Controller possess strong relationship management skills and be adept at partnering with leaders from key lines of business in an effort to find optimal solutions to complex accounting issues. Specific expertise in international accounting practices and policies, currencies and reporting capabilities is required.

The Global Controller will oversee a team of 3 employees and will report directly to the CFO. Proven success leading change initiatives and elevating an accounting function while introducing new and improved technologies and processes is ideal.

The Global Controller will be a collaborative leader who enjoys mentoring and developing team members. We are seeking a leader with a can-do attitude and a high level of energy – with the ability to engage the accounting team, collaborate with Data and FP&A teams and bring a positive outlook to the work and to the opportunities that exist. Additionally, the Global Controller will drive end-to-end improvement processes across the enterprise.

IMA is seeking a seasoned Global Controller with a blend of strategic and execution skills; an analytical, high-level thinker who is solution oriented and willingness to “rolling up their sleeves”. Ideally, the candidate will be within driving distance of IMA's headquarters in Montvale, NJ to join our team occasionally for team meetings and events in the office.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop the accounting team.
  • Leads development of global accounting policies and overseas operations of accounting and procedures.
  • Leads the accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of continuous, rigorous internal audits and controls and checks across all departments.
  • Manage the annual financial audit and coordinate with auditor.
  • Develops and monitors timely monthly financial records and reporting for senior leadership team and the Board.
  • Support reforecast and budget process and related activities.
  • Fosters strong connections with internal and external stakeholders to drive success ensuring an agile approach in accordance with serve market trends and achieve customer-centricity.
  • Coach and guide employees to enable them to deliver excellent operational performance with a customer-centric approach

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES and OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

There are a number of critical skills/traits the Controller must possess with a high degree of proficiency. These include:

  • Global Controllership Expertise: International accounting experience; understanding of complex, multiple country currencies and requirements. GAAP and IFRS knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Accounting preferred but not required.
  • Proven 10+ years of accounting leadership experience in finance discipline with a focus on accounting.
  • CPA or CMA required.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and GAAP required.
  • Strategic mindset and also hands on, willingness to rollup his/her sleeves to get things done in a collaborative manner.
  • Understanding finance technology (MS Great Plains preferred).
  • Outstanding communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
  • Capable of building strong professional relationships
