Swagelok Pittsburgh is seeking an energetic and motivated Field Sales Representative to join our team. Based in the Greater Pittsburgh area, this position provides the opportunity to serve our existing customer base while expanding our presence in our service area. As a Field Sales Representative, you will play a pivotal role in fostering enduring customer relationships, providing exceptional support, and actively contributing to the growth of our business.

Critical Success Factors:

  • Consistently nurture and expand sales opportunities within our existing accounts.
  • Accelerate sales growth of new products, services, and assembly solutions across existing and prospective accounts.
  • Drive customer base expansion by actively pursuing account conversions and new business opportunities.
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with customers across all levels, from the shop floor to executive management.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical, customer, and inventory management services to maximize sales.
  • Develop strong customer relationships, expanding access to decision-makers and influencers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer outcomes through the adoption of Swagelok products and fabrication services.
  • Proactively navigate customer organizations, sell value, and actively pursue leads for new business opportunities.
  • Facilitate seamless collaboration between customers and the Swagelok Pittsburgh Technical & Customer Service teams to deliver tailored and valuable solutions.
  • Communicate the unique value proposition of Swagelok products and services.


What You Will Need to Succeed:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, is preferred, although equivalent experience in B2B industrial sales with a minimum of 2 years will also be considered.
  • Proven track record of ambitious achievement, combined with a proactive mindset for continuous learning and adaptability.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude with the ability to grow competency in product knowledge and customer applications.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities are required for this role. Kindly include a cover letter with your application to further highlight your skills in these areas.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, adept multitasking capabilities, and strong organizational skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities, business acumen, and analytical proficiency.
  • Professionalism and initiative, with a proactive and hands-on attitude.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, and familiarity with SAP will be considered advantageous.
  • Must consent to a background investigation and pre-employment drug screening. Any offer of employment is conditional upon the successful completion of a background investigation and negative drug screening result.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within our service area.
  • Reside within the Swagelok Pittsburgh Sales and Service Area.
