Job DescriptionJob DescriptionEngineering Operations Lead – EE / ME - HardwareExpert Technical Solutions is seeking an Engineering Team Lead for one of our industry leading clients based out of Atlanta, GA (Duluth). This person will be a dynamic force at the intersection of leadership and technical excellence. This role requires a distinctive combination of managerial acumen, technical expertise, and hands-on problem-solving. The Engineering Operations Lead will take charge of guiding a team of skilled EE / ME engineers, all while actively participating in the technical intricacies of projects. The role involves not only leading and coordinating but also contributing directly to the success of engineering endeavors, ensuring a seamless blend of effective management and hands-on technical innovation. This role will report to the VP of Engineering and Product DevelopmentThis is a Permanent, HYBRID (3 days onsite) opportunity offering competitive pay and outstanding growth potential.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Lead and inspire a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
    • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members to enhance their professional development.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence within the engineering team.
    • Implement strategies for team development, including training programs, skill-building initiatives, and career progression planning.
    • Conduct regular performance assessments and provide constructive feedback to support individual and team growth.
    • Recruit, hire, and onboard new engineering talent to strengthen the team.
  • Project Management:
    • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they align with organizational goals and timelines.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, scope, and deliverables.
    • Utilize project management tools to monitor progress, identify potential risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies
  • Technical Contributions:
    • Actively participate in the technical aspects of projects, leveraging expertise to drive successful outcomes.
    • Provide technical guidance to the team, assisting in complex problem-solving and decision-making processes.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continually enhance the team's technical capabilities.
  • Collaboration and Communications:
    • Foster effective communication channels within the engineering team and with stakeholders across different departments.
    • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration of engineering processes with overall business operations.
    • Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into understandable terms.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the engineering operations, optimizing workflows for increased efficiency.
    • Implement best practices and methodologies to streamline development processes and enhance overall operational effectiveness.
DESIRED SKILLS and EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. Master’s Degree preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership role within an engineering or technical team.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with design and development.
  • Successful track record of managing and mentoring teams towards achieving project goals and deadlines.
  • Proven leadership skills in team building, management, and strategic planning.
  • Broad technology experience including familiarity API, micro services, cloud data architecture, web & mobile development and event driven architectures highly preferred
  • Understanding of DevOps and CI/CD (Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery) preferred
  • Proven experience in the design and development of electro-mechanical systems.
  • Strong proficiency in CAD software for both electrical and mechanical design.
  • Competency in Agile/Scrum methodologies, project planning, and execution.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences.
