Marketing Manager
The Marketing Manager is responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive marketing and communications program that drives understanding and support of United Way of Buffalo & Erie County. This position reports to the Director of Brand Management and Community Engagement.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for influencing and supporting the implementation of the overall marketing strategy including digital marketing and activities that communicate the mission, vision and values of the United Way of Buffalo & Erie County.
Oversee the organization’s development and production of marketing materials as well as develop and drive digital content strategy that is inclusive and reaches diverse audiences;
Manage vendor relationships to ensure the execution of overall communications strategy, providing support as needed to coordinate media operations both on-site and at events;
Engage internal stakeholders in internal brand communication;
Support the development of the annual marketing calendar;
Contribute to the United Way Board Marketing Committee;
Ensure United Way staff is prepared for media events, public speaking, community education, and presentations;
Work cross functionally to ensure that departments across the organization have sufficient project management support;
Serve as primary internal editor for all public messaging including digital communications, advertising, marketing materials, special events and public education campaigns;
Monitor budgets and cost centers including purchasing and vendor approval processes on behalf of the department;
Responsible for overseeing social media content and timely posting;
Work closely with management to recruit, hire, develop and support diverse marketing team members and independent consultants as needed;
Supervise the graphic design staff;
Provide videography duties as needed;
Visibly demonstrate UW values of service, integrity, collaboration, accountability, equity & agility;
Participate in mandatory meetings and training programs;
Performs other duties as requested.
Education, Skills, Knowledge, Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with 3+ years of work related experience or equivalent.
Proven experience in developing creative advertising materials, direct mail, email and online advertising communications for diverse audiences.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity and equity.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work on diverse cross-functional teams in both leadership and member roles.
Exceptional presentation and writing skills.
Skilled at crafting and delivering compelling stories in a variety of formats.
Ability to simplify complex information and clearly communicate through multiple communication channels to diverse audiences.
Social Media expertise.
Ability to successfully delegate and provide team members with growth opportunities.
Must possess strong interpersonal skills and is a relationship builder.
Videography experience is a plus.
Travel is primarily within the eight counties of Western New York. Some domestic travel may be required for job training and professional development.
