The Director of Purchasing is responsible for leading the MonteVista Homes Purchasing Department and supporting the company’s values, mission and vision. This role oversees the day to day operations Purchasing and ERP teams and ensures timely and accurate information is provided for the execution of building residential homes. The Director of Purchasing is expected to provide vision, leadership and inspire drive for their team to operate at an industry leading level of professionalism and efficiency.

Compensation:

$100,000

Responsibilities:
  • I will maintain and execute on a vision for the Purchasing Department that is in line with the Company goals.
  • I will lead the Purchasing Department adhering to LMA (Leadership + Management = Accountability) principles.
  • I will work directly with the VP of Operations to ensure alignment in vision and direction with the company goals and objectives.
  • I am accountable for all Purchasing and Estimating activities including keeping direct costs in line with the company’s annual business plan and growth goals.
  • I am accountable for vision and execution of the structure and hierarchy of the Operations side of Mark Systems to ensure it meets present and future business needs.
  • I am accountable for ensuring the pre-start process is accurate and complete including PO issuance and communication of build specifications to the field and vendors.
  • I am accountable for the accuracy and organization of all backend system data including materials lists, options and vendor information.
  • I will create, maintain and monitor department level metrics to ensure the Purchasing Team is executing on a data-driven approach to success.
  • I will stay up to date with industry backend system technology trends, provide recommendations for improvement and execute projects for updates of our ERP software.
  • I will complete estimating tasks to assist in creating new plans,options and maintaining materials lists.
  • I am accountable for ensuring vendor information including bids and exhibits is organized and accurate in both Mark Systems and roots files.
  • I am accountable for the accuracy and organization of all ERP system data
  • I will analyze and Purchasing and ERP systems processes and implement improvements to ensure processes meet the business needs in the most efficient manner.
  • I will organize and execute New Community Launches, Plan, Option, Selection and Code updates using Project Management principles to ensure timely implementation
  • I will be accountable for the structure and accuracy of Options in Mark Systems, including creating new options, eliminating unused options and maintaining options.
  • I am responsible for monitoring and ensuring accuracy of operational reporting including Variance, Cost, Margin and Cycle Time
  • I will collaborate with the Purchasing Team and Field Team to analyze the root cause and solve high impact variances.
  • I will maintain all information related to Vendor Rebates and execute on negotiating rebate programs in the best interest of the Company.
  • I will create, execute and maintain high quality training related to Purchasing and ERP Systems
  • I will create, implement and manage systems to reduce product costs and improve process efficiencies.
  • I will oversee the new vendor onboarding to ensure information is collected, organized and entered efficiently and accurately
  • I will manage the relationships with large vendors to negotiate pricing and services that are in alignment with the Company goals and values.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree; preferably in supply Chain Management or Business Administration
  • 5+ years experience in managing residential construction back office teams.
  • Full understanding of residential construction purchasing practices.
  • Advanced data analysis and reporting skills
  • Understanding of ERP systems structure, hierarchy and functions
  • Proficient in MS Office (Must have strong Excel Skills)
  • Expert in process development and training.
  • Expert in project planning and management principles.
  • Understanding of business economics - cost, margin, cycle times
