Currently Samet's Charleston office is looking for an Assistant Controller to join their team

As an Assistant Controller at Samet, you will be responsible for assisting in managing of the financial systems of the Company and to support the Savannah region.

Key duties include:

  • Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Prepare and analyze regional WIP Schedules
  • Prepare and analyze general ledger account reconciliations
  • Attend monthly project reviews
  • Assist in preparation of monthly regional meetings
  • Review and set-up new contracts
  • Support month end and year end closing
  • Participate in preparation for the annual audit
  • Assist with special projects
  • Assist with prequalifications

Qualifications:

Position requires a minimum of 2 years of public accounting experience with focus on assurance services or 2-5 years of experience in a similar accounting role in the construction industry. Excellent computer and software skills, with the ability to learn, adapt to and implement new systems. Proficiency in Excel is a must. Experience with Construction Software is a plus. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

B.S. in Business Administration or Accounting

This role requires a team player with a customer-service approach to co-workers and subcontractors, and a passion for collaborative improvement and implementation of effective work processes, procedures and standards in a team environment.
