As a Community-Based Caregiver, you will have the unique opportunity to work directly with our clients in their homes and communities, providing personalized care and support tailored to their individual needs and preferences.
The Role:
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting clients in various aspects of daily living, including:
- Assisting with personal care tasks such as grooming, bathing, and dressing
- Meal planning, preparation, and execution
- Encouraging health and wellness through regular exercise and community activities
- Promoting independence and self-advocacy by engaging clients in meaningful hobbies and activities based on their interests
- Providing guidance and support in household management and safety
Your responsibilities will extend beyond traditional caregiving duties. You will play a crucial role in empowering our clients to achieve their personal goals, fostering a sense of community involvement, and promoting their overall well-being.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional certifications or training in caregiving are a plus)
- Proven experience in providing care to individuals with disabilities or mental health concerns
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to empathize and build trust with clients and their families
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and valid car insurance
- Ability to commute to client homes within a 30-mile radius of your location
- Willingness to work around pets (cats and dogs) in clients' homes
