Job Description: Information Security Analyst

The Information Security Analyst will function as an internal IT resource for the organization. The position will work in the security and compliance team and report directly to the CIO. Candidate will work with various departments to maintain compliance and strengthen the organization’s security posture.

Principle Functions:

  1. Security Engineering Principles
    1. Coordinate with Infrastructure, Software, Technical Support, Professional Service Teams and end users to minimize disruptions and protect assets
    2. Configure and analyze security tools and software
    3. Review daily and periodic data to identify, report, and remedy vulnerabilities
  2. Risk Management
    1. Help develop solutions or improvements to prevent malicious activity
    2. Use technical skills to help respond to threats and emergency security incidents in a timely manner
    3. Use knowledge of computers and electronics to monitor and analyze data from various security systems
  3. Internal Security Measures
    1. Security planning, design, and implementation
    2. Effectively communicate security information to fellow analysts, employees, and / or customers

  1. Secure Engineering Technical Management
    1. Managing and overseeing all technical security initiatives

Education / Experience

  1. Education
    1. Background in Computer Science, Information Technically, or related field is strongly preferred
  2. Certifications
    1. Existing certification or in pursuit to certify is strongly preferred:
      1. CISA
      2. CISM
      3. CGEIT
      4. CRISC
      5. CDPSE
      6. CSX-P

Essential Experience

The Information Security Analyst should have an Information Technology Background with at least 2 years in a security role.

  1. Excellent written communication skills
  2. Excellent organization skills
  3. Knowledge and experience of HiTrust and security compliance

The candidate must be a professional and team oriented individual with the ability to problem solve by thinking “outside of the box”, remain calm and contain composure during high pressure or chaotic situations, and have good judgement to escalate or deescalate when needed.
