The role of the consumer insight and innovation leader here at Basic Research will be responsible for representing the customer and brand needs to the product development team. This leader works closely with the product development team to define, prioritize and deliver product features that meet market demands, regulatory requirements and customer satisfaction.

 

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

 

  • Collaborate with Brand Managers to define clear product vision and strategy in line with market demands.
  • Conduct market research to understand consumer trends, preferences, and emerging needs. 
  • Serve as a customer advocate by understanding their needs and expectations for products (dietary supplements and skincare)
  • Incorporate customer feedback into product development and improvements. 
  • Identify opportunities for new products or improvements to existing ones based on market insights. 
  • Work closely with Regulatory, R&D, Quality, and Brand to define detailed product requirements, ensuring that they align with market trends, quality specifications etc. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including regulatory affairs, research and development, quality assurance, marketing, and sales, to ensure a cohesive approach to product development. 
  • Make decisions on prioritization, feature implementation, and release planning based on a combination of business value, customer needs, and overall project goals (e.g. non GMO, vegetarian capsules, sustainable packaging, etc.)
  • Maintain a deep understanding of new products, market trends, and customer needs, and staying informed about changes in the industry that could impact product development. 


TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL HAVE: 

 

  • A passion for bringing products to life
  • Prior experience in product portfolio management, preferably in the consumer goods industry with a focus on dietary supplements and skincare
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role, demonstrating successful cross collaboration with cross functional teams
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field – is a plus
  • Strong ability to conduct market research to identify consumer trends, preferences, and emerging needs
  • Strong decision-making skills in prioritizing features, implementing changed, and planning releases/launches based on business value and customer needs
  • Deep understanding of the consumer good industry, preferably in health and wellness/dietary supplements/skincare
